The Regional Task Force was created with the support of the Asian Development Bank as an international knowledge platform; to help accelerate the development of solar energy, smart grid and associated technologies; and to promote public-private partnerships. In this way, the RTF aims to reduce global energy use in industrial facilities and commercial buildings and enhanced energy security. It is an independent, not-for-profit, non-partisan, non-politican and technology neutral international NPO. It was incorporated on 24 February 2012 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
